Touge racing is a typical japanese style of race, incorporating elements from rally racing and drifing. This form of race has the drivers, usually two of them, race down a moutain with curving roads, fighting for the lead position. This form of racing is also faintly regulated, with most of the races occuring in underground organisations. The mountain roads chosen for this type of race are usually very narrow, resulting in a true battle for the first position.

As the drivers are soaring down the moutain, it is understandable to note that it is a very dangerous form of racing, as a simple mistake or slip up can cause the driver to fly off the mountain road. By incorporating drifting into the equation of the downhill race, drivers are able to cut off the angles of the rear driver, to prevent them for gaining the leading position. Due to the highly competitive nature of these races, drivers often push themselves past their limits.
